Dr. L. Steele is a veterinarian at The Beacon Veterinary Associates in Beacon with a special interest in preventative, dermatology, and feline medicine.

Dr. Luann Steele knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she was just seven years old. She was an only child and developed a special bond with animals at a very early age. She grew up in the Hudson Valley region and obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in biological sciences from Binghamton University. She then attended Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine, receiving her D.V.M. in 2002. After receiving her medical degree, she returned to the area to serve her community.
Dr. Steele has experienced all aspects of small animal general practice, from working as an associate, owning her own practice, working as a mobile/house call vet, to most recently working as a relief veterinarian. She has been working relief shifts at The Beacon Veterinary Associates over the past 1.5 years and has really enjoyed the clients, the pets, the community, and the wonderful staff. She is thrilled to be joining the team.
She currently resides in rural Sullivan County, NY with her husband and two teen daughters. She shares her home with her dedicated Australian Shepherd, Isabella. and her toy-obsessed Labrador Retriever, Luna Bear. Her feline companions, sassy Sam and sweet Patticakes round out the family. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, watching her daughters’ sports and musical events, going to concerts, and exploring the great outdoors with her dogs.
